‘Cold Chisel’ will again take to the stage to be part of a sensational international line-up to help raise funds for Tsunami victims at The Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Sunder 27 September.
Along with Cold Chisel, will be Willie Nelson, Spearhead, Taj Mahal, and for the first time in 30 years the Legendary Daddy Cool have chosen this special event to reform, plus others.
The line-up for the Tsunami Benefit Concert to date will be:

Cold Chisel
Billy Thorpe and the original Sunbury Aztecs, with special guests
Willie Nelson
Gretchen Wilson
Michael Franti and Spearhead
Richard Clapton band
Taj Mahal
Joel Turner and the Modern Day Poets
And on the second stage will be Eran James, Nessa Morgan, Kylie Auldist, Andy Cowan, Marie Gabrielle (USA), Bomba and Josh Owen….with more artists to be announced.

Number 1 on the Aria DVD charts

and has just gone platinum.

Last week saw the 'Ringside' movie given the big screen treatment at the Dendy Quay in Sydney and the Kino Dendy in Melbourrne. We would like to thank everyone that came along and made the screenings such a success.

Credit card bookings will be available from 10.30 am - 8.30pm each day until sold out.
Alternatively you can buy tickets from the cinema box office in person.

Remember the sensational performances from Cold Chisel when they toured the nation with their RINGSIDE concerts?
Well, you can re-live the RINGSIDE experience with state of the art sound and vision when RINGSIDE comes to the movies for two special screenings in both Sydney and Melbourne later this month.   
 These special screenings will be in Sydney at the Dendy Cinema at Circular Quay on Wednesday September 1st and Thursday September 2nd, and in Melbourne at the Dendy Cinema on Collins Street also on Wednesday September 1st and Thursday September 2nd.

A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The much anticipated retail release of the Ringside DVD has been confirmed for Monday 6th September.


Filmed and recorded at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on the 3,4,6,and 7th of June 2003, the DVD contains over two and half hours of footage, including extra bonus tracks and exclusive behind the scenes footage taken during the band's national concert tour Nov/Jan 2003/4.


The DVD was produced and directed by film maker Robert Hambling who did the promotional clips for Cold Chisel's last studio album "The Last Wave of Summer". Robert also produced the Silverchair documentary ‘Across The Night, the creation of Diorama’


The concert was recorded by Steve James - ARIA Producer and Engineer of the Year 2000 (Superjesus, Sex Pistols, Jam).


Filming was done by Daily Planet Productions with DOP Michael (Jacko) Jackson.

 

Rick Will did the stereo and 5.1 mixing. (Ben Harper, No Doubt, Incubus)


The film was edited by Nick Meyers (The Boys, The Bank)


Cover artwork is by Martin Sharp (Cream's "Disraeli Gears"),

with design and layout byRobert Hambling


The audio is in Dolby Surround 5.1 and Dolby Digital Stereo.


Screen format is 16.9.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

 

Jack Awards
The inaugural Jack awards were held in Sydney on the 8th June at the City Recital Hall.
The awards are for the live music industry. As a climax to the show members of Powderfinger, Silverchair, The Sleepy Jackson and Superjesus got together and performed a version of Star Hotel to close the show.
If you missed the awards you can still catch it on Channel V at 8.30pm on June 20th

Rolling Stone Magazine
The July edition, The 50th Anniversary of Rock - The Immortals, features a story on Cold Chisel penned by Pete Murray. There is also a great full page caricature of the band by Joanne Brooker.
Jimmy also pens the feature story on ACDC.


Ringside DVD
